This Wednesday, me and my buddy @potatohastur.bsky.social will be holding a branding study. Hastur specialises in character concepts and we'll be covering the following:

- If you lose power or internet, blame it on something else instead of a service outage. It's very easy to look those up and you never know how isolated the problem is. It's best to blame it on an in-house issue like your router dying
- Be careful with how you talk about weather events, such as thunderstorms. I even end stream if a particularly loud storm is coming by because if it's heard over stream, people could match it to radar data
- Be vague with how you describe the temperature as well, just hot or cold will do
- Be extremely vague about certain locations and their proximity to you. Don't namedrop businesses (especially multiple ones), use generic terms
- Obituaries are public, so if a loved one passes π try not to say their relationship to you if you post about it

- Never announce where you're going until after you've already gone
- Don't share photos depicting any distinct features of the outside of your house (windows and the view)
- Be careful of what brands are shown in photos, some can be local
