This made me laugh.
Slightly slushy conditions from the morning drizzle, but still a lot of fun. #carving #blues
I conquered some new technology this week, and I’m proud of that. Sometimes you have to sit and tinker with things to get comfortable with them…and be okay with that 👌💡💻🎙️#kidlit #writerslife
You’ve been warned, friends!
We both got our hair cut today.
This is a writing retreat in the beautiful green mountains of Vermont that I attended two summers ago. Esther has one space left, if you're interested. She has led the Chicago chapter of SCBWI for years and teaches creative writing at the University of Chicago. www.thelandgrove.com/event-detail...
It’s been exactly a year since I gave author visits and nonfiction writing workshops to local elementary students (including my own children and their classmates!), and I can’t wait to get back out there and do more 🩷😎💭📚✍🏻 #kidlit #writerslife #schoolvisit #teachers
When I read THE POWER OF HER PAINTBRUSH, I thought:
@janicehechter.bsky.social isn’t just writing about Theresa Bernstein. She’s walking alongside her. I got to interview her for @writersrumpus.bsky.social about art, persistence, and creating over a lifetime.

I’m still hearing about this “new” book all the time from teachers and librarians. It’s one I will keep on my book shelf indefinitely. #kidlit #childrensbooks
Watched this on my flight a couple weeks ago and was tearing up within the first 5 minutes. Beautiful and moving. Nat Geo and the couple who starred in it did a top-notch job. I also watched John Candy documentary and it was so good. I was a fan as a kid, but what a treat to view him in new way.
Going zero for four today! #adulting #kidlit
Good hair day…gotta be thankful for those. When the stars somehow align and this happens, I document it and post it on social media (yes, I want you to tell me it looks good. I have no shame)🎀 Hard to believe I cut it jaw length during the pandemic. It was bad…decided to try bangs and everything 😂😆
We went to a winter festival on our town pond and got to try our hand at ice cutting, curling (those granite disks are heavy), and ice fishing! We did not catch any fish, but others caught some big striped bass and got to bring them home.
Got this for Mike. Woman’s hair was supposed to be red—oh well! #valentines
Happy Valentine’s Day! 💘
Only a few days left until THE CABBAGE SEED'S COLOSSAL SECRET makes its way into the world! Thank you, @hilarymargitich.bsky.social for this fab interview! tinyurl.com/53v5jhjt @eepy.bsky.social #gardeningwithkids #kidsgarden #gardening #teachers #librarians #kidlit #kidlitart #books #picturebooks
I talked with Karen M. Greenwald about her new picture book THE CABBAGE SEED’S COLOSSAL SECRET—and the joy of helping kids see what’s possible.

Thank you for sharing! 🩷
For me, the best part of enjoying the Olympics is the stories we learn about these ordinary, extraordinary people. The humanity—something that we so need right now. People are amazing.
Really.
Short ribs with Korean BBQ sauce 🤤
His front paws are crossed 😴
We got some snow! 😮
Girl Scout cookie G.O.A.Ts 🏆 🍪 But there can only be one G.O.A.T., so to which do you award that honor?
I say caramel deLites. They’re just *slightly* yummier.
