I tested a £100 “smart” toaster with six different modes including bagel (or bagle!), waffle and defrost. It can produce different shades of toast… but it also seems to ignore its own rules!

I tried turning a cheeseburger into a giant gummy bear using a custom mould. It didn’t quite end up looking like a gummy bear, but after nearly 13½ hours of trial, error, and improvised solutions, I was oddly proud of it.
