if there tiktok videos sending up your software, and they go uber-viral because *everyone has experienced your software doing what they're making fun of*, maybe it's, like, bad software?

I still think it's odd that governments are driving people to VPNs over an issue governments don't actually care about, but they risk losing surveillance capacity in the process for issues they care deeply about.

I have secured a sufficient supply of petroleum for an automobile journey to Mildura this Friday. $1.74 per litre for an ethanol mixture. Heightened price, but not unreasonable, due to the misadventure of an autocrat.

Haven't ridden my bicycle for two work days and I can already feel myself becoming a sedentarist.

Until not too long ago, before fall of Kabul, most airlines also avoided Afghanistan airspace by skirting north along the edge of the Himalayas. Very congested route. This is one of the two routes Qantas used in 2023 when I travelled that way

On a dancefloor at 2am, I heard Jacinda Ardern’s husband say they were moving to Australia. I don’t blame them | Johanna Cosgrove It’s no surprise that so many Kiwis are leaving New Zealand behind for a nation with much larger capacity for embarrassment: Australia

FUN FAKT. As a 20-something, I would wear swimming goggles whilst chopping onions. I don't do that anymore! I no longer eat onions deliberately due to poor digestive outcomes.

Facebook closing down messenger.com. Why? Presumably not enough people are logging onto facebook.com, so Messenger users will be diverted there to improve metrics.

A screenshot including the text of the main post in the thread above with a reply from me (now deleted) reading, "In New South Wales, bicycle riders can't use bus lanes. Victoria changed his rule 10 to 15 years ago so that bicycle riders can use bus lines. I know New South Wales seen particularly keen on infringing bicycle riders, so I can understand the rider using the general traffic lane. Still, advocate for reform, anger will pass."

I have deleted my post as it turns out bicycle riders CAN use bus lanes in NSW. The rule allowing them to do so (NSW rule 158(2)(c)(i)) is different to Victoria, hence my confusion. Apologies.

Found it. Road rule 158(2)(c)(i) allowing bicycle riders to use bus lanes. Applied in a different way to Victoria.

Does that screenshot include a reference to the rule allowing bicycle riders to use bus lanes (and other lanes)?

Axed literary magazine Meanjin finds a new home after its axing Melbourne University Press closed the much-loved literary magazine last year, saying it was losing too much money.

QUT will take over famous literary magazine Meanjin, after the journal was closed by Melbourne Uni Publishing last year.
