The ability to command both black AND white magic is also great since it showcases the balance of things, and maintaining that takes strong will, smarts and knowledge so it fits!

SMN - a job whose magic focus is a book, wielding knowledge to cast spells & summoning eikons for the greater good.

RDM - rapiers are such elegant weapons and Niners himself is very elegant too! the main aesthetic of the job being a rose is also great since one of the main associations with my boy is blue roses (among a few other flowers) since, again, they are man-made and he's a robot in the main universe.

MCH - easy pick as well because it resonates with Niners a lot for the same reason that GNB does (and both handle guns as their main weapon) + you get a robot as your lil buddy (and Niners is an android in my main universe so y'all see the connection ajhsgf)
And, honestly, the job gear slaps!

VPR - double blades and an adventurous spirit of the job makes this one a solid pick as Niners likes traveling and learning about the world! I feel like the snake aspect also fits since Niners has some dragon blood in his lineage, and both snakes and dragons are scaly so it just makes sense :D

SGE - as I mentioned in the initial post, the idea of a highly precise, almost surgical, healer that knows how to approach aether and its realignment for treating wounds & ailments is incredibly fitting. And the weapons look awesome!

PLD - Niners actually started out as a Paladin! The moral code, his selflessness and the overall aesthetic of the job fall into place like they were meant to be
GNB - the most badass aesthetic, showcasing a protector who can go on the offense in a second (...)

an illustration of Niners in the ff14 au (he's an au ra xaela) he's depicted here as if he's one of the bosses of the Arcadion raid series! the beast soul he uses is that of Einhander which, after transformation gave him way more curled horns, a pair of wings, more scales all over his body (his face, tips of fingers and palm are the only parts not covered by them). the sleeves of the coat and the pant legs partially fused with his arms and legs respectively, granting this smooth transition between them. in one hand he's carrying a gunblade transformed into a railgun (he has two modes - regular gunblade with a beam blade and a railgun - the two sides of the gunblade slide apart, the beam dissipating, revealing said other mode of the weapon), while the other one is outstretched to the side. Niners is ready to attack his opponents with the aether-charged bullets he manifested in an almost complete circle around himself. as he's about to will them to slot into the open railgun, some cybernetic indicators are glowing around the weapon.
