Niners is kneeling down in front of Nico, who's sitting on the little patio in the yard of the house (which belongs to both of them). Nico's clearly hurt - blood is dripping from his nose, trailing down his upper lip, some fresh scratch marks on his forehead and knuckles, a new scar across his nose and a blackeye. He's bandaged up, only the lower half of his body still dressed in armor. Niners is dressed in his Sage attire, nouliths hovering around his back, emitting a blue glow signifying that they're activated and ready for use. Nico is looking downwards, wincing and scrunching his nose slightly at the pain. One hand is resting near the knee while the other one is holding onto Niners' arm. Meanwhile, Niners is gently touching the side of Nico's face, trying to take a look at the wounds. The Au Ra's eyebrows are raised in a worried and pained expression, as it hurts for him to see his partner all bruised up and wounded.

"Oh, Nico.. Please, let me take a look."

Brainstormed too hard during MSQ replay and ended up creating Ozuki, a next-gen sylph child who spends their time disguised as a lalafell. An older Yuyuka will end up standing a bit too close to a ripened podling, shenanigans (unexpected adoption) ensue.🌱

I love when characters rely on each other so much (+ it would work wonders for my boys to do that in this AU since both of them are WoLs and it makes sense to shoulder things for one when the other one can't)

One of my fav things is showing the hero as fallible—at what point do they crumble under the weight of the title thrust onto them? Who are they when the dust settles and they are left to tend to aftermath of the violence necessary to save the world? When the hero falls, the world follows-

The WoL starts as an unexpected ace, a blunt weapon then sharpened to a fine point over the expacs, believed in to the same degree that a primal would, despite being mortal. A weapon, once forged, believed not to require maintenance until the point that it breaks… I think about this a lot 🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️

I just. it’s not JUST about the WoL hurting. It’s also about how they aren’t allowed to hurt, because being hurt means that someone else has to be the wall in their stead. And regardless of their belief in themselves to be able to hold the line, it’ll never be as strong as the WoL is
