Focused.

One of the reasons I don't do it is because I don't want a crutch. I just try to do better everyday. But I'm getting old, and this is tiering... so I just seclude myself more and more to avoid awkward social interactions that will push people away. Its just easier.

Sometimes I think I should seek professional help and get whatever I have diagnosed, so I can slap a label on it and start any social interactions with "hi, I have X condition, so sorry if I say or do things that piss you off... I try my best but always seem to fail"...

I managed to brick the brick! It's even MORE bricked now 😅 While setting up a glitching harness I, apparently, fell in a codepath that blew some eFuses related to an anti-rollback mechanism. So my valid FW image isn't valid anymore. ☠️ Now I just need to glitch the bootloader to glitch u-boot 🤡

I spent about a year playing with the Kindle. Got two full exploit chains, one RCE (non-priviledged) and a couple other interesting findings. I was ready to drop it as a target for a while. Then I bricked a Kindle, and the prospect of attacking the bootloaders to recover it pulled me right back in

For listening practice I created a new Anki deck with the same cards of my main deck, but only their sound in the front face. Also doing some exs using texts+audio stories about twice a week. I listen to the recording and try writing down what I heard from the stories. This has helped immensely.

68 days straight, passed 600 words studied and started learning HSK4 now. My study is accelerating as I learn more hanzi; I have an easier time recognizing old words and I can sometimes infer the meaning of new words and how they are pronounced. Also started focusing a lot more on listening.

"The owner of the ball" is an expr we have over here; which refers to a (usually rich) kid that owns a ball and lets the other play with him, but when they loose they get mad and take the ball back, ruining it for everyone. The USA lost to China, and now they want the football back...

As a teenager I grew up listening to the mantra of "free trade", "tariffs bad", while the US heavily pushed for South America to adhere to ALCA. Seeing what is happening now is really interesting.

Might be a coping mechanism, it might be the level of hilarious insanity we are witnessing, or just plain schadenfreude from a "3rd Worlder"... but the past few days I've laughed reading the news more than once.

Astrophotography is a great hobby. You can probably get some good shots of Jupiter and the Galilean moons with that setup. Make a gif of their transit during the night :) with that resolution you might even get hints of Saturn's rings.

Tracking 2 month progress: had to lower my new word intake from 11 to 8 so that my study sessions could stay at a manageable 1-1.5h a day. I've learned about 560 words, 520 with good recall. Past weeks I began to focus more on pronunciation and tones. I'm happy I haven't missed a single day so far.

Meanwhile in my country top officials routinely use Whatsapp and no one bats an eye 🤮
