Today, City Council presented a proclamation honoring Ast. Chief Mike Holden’s retirement. Ast. Chief Holden served at multiple divisions during his nearly 30 years with San Diego PD, eventually serving as Assistant Chief of Operations.

It was my honor to be invited to speak at the annual Cooper Family Foundation Juneteenth celebration! It is more important than ever that we honor, teach & celebrate our Nation’s true history, and that we support organizations like CFF who keep our communities strong.

Thank you to the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce for bringing regional leaders and the community together for the annual Congressional Luncheon!

After 30 years of transformative leadership, Paul Downey has retired as President & CEO of Serving Seniors. Having built over 500 units of affordable senior housing, Paul leaves a legacy of compassion & impact. Thank you, Paul, for your lifelong commitment to serving our seniors!

I was honored to attend The LGBTQ Center’s second annual Luminaries Luncheon, celebrating the incredible local leaders & organizations working every day to uplift and protect our LGBTQ+ community. Together, we’re building a safer, healthier, and more inclusive San Diego for all.

Due to scheduling conflicts, to ensure maximum participation, and due to the importance of the smart streetlights item, the Public Safety Committee meeting has been moved from June 18th to June 27th at 1:00pm, where we will hear the 2025 Annual Surveillance Report (including smart streetlights).

Proud to walk alongside Economic Development Department staff as we visited small businesses in Scripps Ranch.

Whether it’s securing the proper permits or addressing issues with city services, we’re working together to ensure these businesses have the resources they need to thrive.

Reading builds brighter futures, and our libraries are the heart of our communities. Let’s make this summer one for the books!

We got a behind-the-scenes look at the world-renowned animal research and conservation work happening here – it’s awe-inspiring to see the dedication to protecting wildlife and habitats for future generations.
