Lots of reasons have been thrown around as to why Martin Jepson immediately appointed Danny McGuire.

Was it his ability to attract talent? Had Danny’s head been turned by someone else?

Ultimately, I think he was simply appointed because he’s a winner.

Hull signed some shockers last season. Huddersfield, Leeds & Catalans have had some stiffs and even Wigan, Warrington & Saints have not been perfect.

Don’t think other sides do any better and in most cases have spent much more.

If you look at our recent signings at Queensland Cup / NSW Cup level some have been good ( Liam Horne, Sylvester Namo, Ellie El Zackhem) and some no so good ( Nixon Putt, Daniel Hindmarsh Taki).
Out of our 3 signings so far Zac carries the least expectation but he might turn out to be the best.

It doesn’t matter who we sign there would be some so called “expert” trashing them online. It’s par for the course. Let’s wait and see. Was an Aussie schoolboy player but hasn’t made it to NRL. He won’t be getting NRL level wages and is still young and it may suit him in SL.
