I had an absolutely amazing time at the Yorkshirefurs summer party! I made some new friends, and hung out with other ones, including one I hadn't seen IRL for over three years!

The Greek theme of the party was nice too (that's why I'm wearing a bedsheet folded like a chiton)!

Some good news in my personal life - today, I passed my confirmation viva (essentially the same as obtaining PhD candidacy)!

But capitalism can't be checked - when you have a system which inherently funnels the means of production and wealth into a hand of a select few, they will just buy out the government.

The system is doing exactly as intended, making and keeping a few people absurdly rich at the cost of everyone.
