It's basically what they did in the recent trilogy of novels that focused on Willow having a wiccan/slayer hybrid magical daughter. They lived on a rebuilt Sunnydale. It was ... Bad.

So many other better options than Sunnydale again ha

I don't think they'll follow on from the comics. So I see this being in an alt timeline post s7.

But yeah it was totally destroyed. In the comics they did go back to find the Seed of Wonder but it was never rebuilt or anything.

They'll definitely rebuild it on the Hellmouth.

I just think this taints the ending of s7 tbh. At least the comics treated it with more care (returning to Sunnydale that is).
