A rare outing for one of Neil’s finest and most poetic songs - Ambulance Blues was the opener tonight in Groningen. From the album On The Beach and with strong influence from the great Bert Jansch, it was performed with band, an even rarer occurrence.

The first release files have prominent overdubbed vocals on the three songs. The revised versions don’t, though I Am A Child still has quiet vocals towards the end. Love Earth is a different version (2023 tour) to the one (2024 tour we think) on the original release.

If you are talking about the whole album, no, the rest is all singing!

All three are rehearsal recordings. I think I Am A Child still has some original sotto voce vocals towards the end, which might have been what gave him the idea to try out similar vocals as later overdubs on the others - but he has since changed his mind!

Basically yes, the three songs have had the overdubbed vocals removed (well there is still a bit left on I Am A Child), so they are kind of "original" instrumental versions now.

Coastal Soundtrack is now streaming in full in its revised version on neilyoungarchives.com for signed up members of NYA.

The four tracks were apparently not intended for release - see my other replies for details.

3 of the 4 tracks initially released had vocal overdubs which had been added much later. They have now been replaced with non-overdubbed original recordings from the tour. Love Earth was a recording from a different tour, now replaced by a recording from the Coastal tour.

As far as I know, those four song versions were also incorrect on the initial CD and vinyl releases which have since been recalled. If you have the original it may become a collectors‘ item! I don’t know of any other changes.

The 'corrected' version of the Coastal Soundtrack album is now streaming on the main music streamers but not yet on NYA.
Expecting To Fly, Song X and I Am A Child have all been replaced with original instrumental versions and Love Earth is also now a version from the tour.

Following release of Coastal Soundtrack on April 18, the day after the first public screenings of the film Coastal, album distribution has been halted after "a few mistakes" were apparently discovered by Neil. Details of the mistakes are not yet known. A reissue is apparently planned.

Neil has just mentioned initial plans for a further European tour in Spring 2026 to include dates in Italy and France which were largely missed off the Summer 2025 tour schedule.

Neil‘s next studio album, Talkin‘ To The Trees, recorded with The Chrome Hearts, will be released on June 13. First up however is the soundtrack album to the film Coastal, based on his 2023 solo tour, to be released April 18.
