If you are considering a separate camera, look into whether there is a mobile app that allows you to control the camera from the phone. This can be helpful for self portraits!

I know this is an old post, but as you keep experimenting, you will be sure to find something original that is a true expression of you (if you haven't already)! Posing and photography take skill and practice, and it's rewarding when you get results you love. 🙂

Aside from IG's issue with nudity, the algorithm is now highly optimized for reels, viral content, and promoted posts. As a result, many posts don't even get seen, while followers are always being distracted by content from accounts they don't even follow. Bluesky is more direct!

Congratulations. That is well deserved, and therefore not surprising!

I have had non-artist friends who say that a good picture must always tell a story, but I disagree. The content can be expressive, abstract, visually interesting, beautiful, or narrative. All of those are valid, and all can lead to a good image when done well.

Generally, I strongly prefer images that don't show the face, since I like images to be about general forms and concepts. However, sometimes the face adds to the expressive power of the image. Eye contact often pushes things too far, veering into the realm of glamour, but it depends.
