Ringu is one of my favourite J-Horror series, not just the films but the books as well. Years ago I made this tribute doll of Sadako Yamamura. I made a well for her out of a round wooden box, so that's where she lurks in my home. #gothicdolls #ringu #sadako #horror

I love the idea of a Sadako doll! I read Ring, Loop, and Spiral but stopped there. I don't think S was out then at the time. Very different to the film but I found them very interesting. How about you?

Same here — jump scares are fine, but it’s that creeping sense of dread, when you know something’s coming but can’t put your finger on it, that really gets under my skin.

Favourite horror movie of all time? Has to be the original Ring. I first saw it in the cinema and the tension was unbearable – that creeping dread, the way silence itself felt dangerous. Few films have ever unsettled me quite so much.

I think I do, yeah 😅 Most of my main characters end up being some variation of a good-hearted but slightly naive person. I just like writing people who see the world with a bit of wonder (and sometimes get burned for it).
