I have forgotten more about football than some people will ever learn
Let's also ignore the term Roman Catholic itself originating as a slur in 16th/17th century England along with Papist, implying undue diligence to God and the Pope, and not the British monarchy. With the expansion of their empire/English language and globalisation, denigration of Catholics followed.
Though he got broken immediately after his first serve stopped clicking in the first set, as soon as the margin lowers, 🐀 baseline rallies turn into the Sergio Ramos penalty meme. Hands down the best thing about the 🐀 hatewatch is that it never disappoints. This is glorious stuff.
Something about the White House splicing bombing targets from Iran into Wii Sports today just underlined personally how social media has moulded the world into becoming utter sociopaths, but still also weirdly optimistic there'll be a gradual wake up, because ultimately none of this is real.
Jester Allensworth of Canton, Portly Charlatan of Blunderous Folly
And it will be so over against Carlos, the cosmic ballet continues
Exactlyyyyyy
We are so back
🐙 calm exterior but still visibly dying of laughter inside while Draper moans about the hindrance call>>>>>>>
Even if he loses in 3
Rybakina since Montreal
Pookie has to stop getting rattled by the big babes ;(
So many pauses between follow through and first step, they're in the trenches rn
Svitolina's return position on Iga's second serve is crazy.
So, I had a quick look simply at BP Faced/Saved and Save% for Iga vs opponents ranked in the WTA top 10 and 11+ since start of 2025 before IW. Kind of obvious matters will be tougher against tougher opponents, but the difference in pressure for such an irrepressible frontrunner is not insignificant.
I just have no faith Iga's going to consistently hold her serve against top players at this point.
FIGHT IGA FIGHT
Interestingly enough, Iga is 9-10 vs WTA top 10 since start of 2025:
Wins - Rybakina on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown x3, Navarro, Zheng, Keys after 0-6 first set in Madrid and then Riyadh, Jas x2
Losses - Gauff, Gauff, Sabalenka, Pegula, AA, Jas, AA, Peak Rybakina, Gauff, Peak Rybakina
But this is the tradeoff with Iga's intensity, and why she's either destroying opponents or losing. The standards of preparation and execution are so high, immediately gets tight whenever she falls remotely short. At the base of it all is an increasingly exploited serve, just can't get rhythm back.
The worst thing about today is, you knew after destroying Muchová, Świątek would be back to this nonsense because the WTA is all matchups. Immediately back to being rattled on serve and getting in her own head with the margin/miss spiral.
That was such a good match.
Ultimately, Đoković has been the boogeyman for the NextGen; along with spot serving and being a tennis supercomputer who can adapt/neutralise with ball control, he is granite psychologically. Brutal match for a 38-year-old, but it's rare to see someone openly try to punish him like Draper tonight.
Balkanac, so he's all three
Those two Sincaraz matches at AO will obviously go down as late-career classics, but it's even apparent against Draper that Đoković's risk appetite is so much higher against top players in 2026. Super low margin. His equivalent to Federer in 2017, but not as natural given his counter-punching peak.
But bro, Uncle Nole is swearing up a storm at Indian Wells. Even more than normal, this grumpy old man is PISSED.
Forget his age. Đoković was literally winded and his box was telling him to lift his arms for airflow, and then he's having to chase repeated drop shots and lobs to win the next point. He is psychologically the strongest to ever pick up a racquet.
You just know this guy has advocated war crimes at one point in his life.
