This bus rattles and whines as if annoyed at being made to ferry us through the cold of Wednesday morning.

First cup of tea: suddenly I can say every tongue-twister ever devised.

Early stroll. The sky breathes a rainless sigh of relief. A glistening car roof. Time has a long relationship with that old wall. A bloke in the bus shelter calls me his pal. The gritter’s orange lights delineate the hill.

Scattered birdsong psalms
In cathedrals of tall trees
Lit by melody.

The Anna Ancher exhibition at Dulwich Picture Gallery is as good as everyone is saying. On till early March.

First cup of tea: this light goes on at more or less the same time every day.

Yes l was making an observation rather than correcting the title. My apologies if it sounded like that.

Definitely a day of brighter later. Wind still wild. Waves still roiling against the breakwater but a golden-hour sunset with cloud-glow casting a warm light over the sea.
