He has cheated death by drowning once, but in this desolate state his "dying heart" sinks, while an omen of mortality hovers close by

"Sad on the jutting eminence he sits & views the main that ever toils below...to the setting sun he turns a mournful eye & down his dying heart sinks helpless". This mariner is young, but shipwreck, biting cold & isolation are too much for the human heart to bear. The kite awaits... #WyrdWednesday

I am the root and the unturned earth, I am the North Wind, a fence of prickles, I am the rain and the cloud it fell from, I am the worm. I am the black rod, I am a giant's cudgel, I am the pin of slumber, the wood's mother, a broken spell, I am all the tales you tell about me, I am an old wound, healed.
