The Song of the Banyan Tree
@jasonsinghthing, the Mozart (or maybe Brian Eno) of Biosonfication, attaches electrodes to our banyan tree to record its biofeedback and turn into a soundtrack for Tishani Doshi to dance to @oliviafraserart's British Council show, A Journey Within, opening Thursday

Getting back on the Bluesky horse with a pic of the beach this week. Morning swims unknot, dissolve and distance, and make it easier to do what you have to do.

I finished Olivia Laing's excellent Garden Against Time and am in that mourning lull when you finish a wonderful book. Kate Boucher's Drawing With Charcoal is keeping me company.

And this love heavier than a lake’s ripe fruit
Without laughter or tears lasts forever
One day after another one night after us.

The taxidermy thylacine on display at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris A screen shot of the label (with the English translation overlaid):
"After the colonization of Tasmania by the English, the thylacine was persecuted because it was considered a predator of sheep.

Dubbed the Tasmanian Wolf, it gained an overblown reputation as a ferocious predator. For many years, bounties..."

Colonialism is the ultimate cause of #extinction for so many species (in much of the world, introduced predators, habitat-loss, overhunting etc are all consequences of #colonialism), but it's rare for that link to be made explicit in #museums' labels, like with @mnhn.fr's #thylacine here. 👌
