The sentence handed to Pacheco is a small piece of justice for her killing, but nothing will bring Bruna back.

We hope this sentencing brings some sense of closure for her family after the horrifying ordeal they have endured over the past few years.

We are urging Government to step up with real, concrete action to keep women safe by expanding prevention efforts and investing more in domestic, gender and sexual based violence supports and simplifying pathways for those fleeing abuse.

Our thoughts are with the family, friends & loved ones of Bruna Fonseca following yesterday’s sentencing of Miller Pacheco who has been found guilty of her murder on New Year’s Eve 2023.
