This is Bodie. He’s here to celebrate the start of Pride Month. Been working on this pose for weeks. 14/10 the parade starts right behind him 🌈🐾 (IG: hellobodie)

And this combustible mixture of ignorance and power, sooner or later, is going to blow up in our faces. Who is running the science and technology in a democracy if the people don't know anything about it?" "Science is more than a body of knowledge, it's a way of thinking. A way of skeptically interrogating the universe with a fine understanding of human fallibility. If we are not able to ask skeptical questions, to interrogate those who tell us that something is true, to be skeptical of those in authority, then we're up for grabs for the next charlatan, political or religious, who comes ambling along."
I think a lot about what Carl Sagan said in one of his final interviews.

The high quality data is now running out. According to Epoch and Anthropic everything else will be exhausted in the next 5 years.
Thoughts?
However, this creates a feedback loop amplifying bias and misinformation. We are already in a synthetic content flood, with LLM generated content increasing exponentially on social media, fake news sites, then real news sites and finally even academic journals. 3/4

I know there are a lot of journalists etc on here who’s views are far more interesting than me, but if I can’t engage and have a conversation it doesn’t encourage me to spend time here.
And this is exactly my problem with bluesky. Posted the same content at the same time. Spot the difference. If no one here wants to engage there’s no point (Thanks Lizzie Carver for being the exception). Everyone else, what’s the point of this platform?

I'm not sure any of us yet understand how much damage the virus inflicted on us all. Keep well everyone and look after yourself and your loved ones.
