However, this creates a feedback loop amplifying bias and misinformation. We are already in a synthetic content flood, with LLM generated content increasing exponentially on social media, fake news sites, then real news sites and finally even academic journals. 3/4

Model collapse theory suggests that once LLMs have digested all real world data available on the internet, in order to continue to develop and grow they will have little choice but to train on their own synthetically generated data. 2/4

So I have a theory about the future of AI, this place and the internet. Let me try a thesis.
