Tei compared his situation with Shuraka to that of his parents, where his mother married his father through an arranged marriage and ended up dying because she couldn't withstand the cold climate. But I think his father loved his mother, otherwise he wouldn't have planted that tree for her. 🥺

Some spoilers for chapter 13 of Blossoms Of The White Night, honestly I can only say that it was a bittersweet feeling in many ways, I hope that Tei's feeling of loneliness and sadness at having to leave his own land changes later on.
