And that’s besides the whole “haven’t been able to update advice for thirty years of inflation and a completely different world when it comes to things like housing and childcare.”
Some people are upset that we’ve been bashing Dave Ramsey.
To that I say, I’m very sorry.
Clearly we haven’t been bashing him enough if it isn’t clear how much we HATE DAVE RAMSEY AND YOU DESERVE MONEY ADVICE THAT ISN’T STEEPED IN SHAME AND MISOGYNY.
😩😩😩😩😩
Me: Dave Ramsey is trash and so is his money advice because it’s based on shame (which doesn’t work long term and makes you feel terrible to boot)
Him: Yeah I’m going to listen to a millionaire
Me: Okay so, me?
Three things to do today:
1. Don’t shop at Target
2. Don’t buy a drink from Starbucks
3. Casual overconsumption with a side of supporting oligarchs and union busters under the guise of self care isn’t cute

Feel that. We’re staring down a roof replacement this summer.
Things I want my tax dollars to pay for:
Universal healthcare
Universal childcare
Housing for everyone
Free school lunches
Public transportation
Things I don’t want my tax dollars to pay for:

What’s your dream expense/purchase?
If you suddenly made 4x what you do currently, what would you spend on that you don’t now?
(If your friends are judging you for doing things you care about / not doing things you don't care about, they aren't really friends)
You'll save a ridiculous amount of money, time, and carbon emissions living this way.
And you'll be happier, too.
Be it a ridiculously long clothing ban, opting out of a high paying career, saying no to that thing that *everyone* is going to...
Decide what matters to you, and lean into not caring what strangers and acquaintances think about you.
ESPECIALLY strangers. Doubly so for strangers on the internet.
Care about the folks in your circle, but even then, forge your own path.
The best life hack?
Not giving AF what other people think about you.
80% of all garment workers are women. And almost ALL of them are horribly underpaid and work in dangerous, miserable conditions.
There is no “women supporting women” happening when you buy fast fashion. None.
Celebrate women this International Women’s Day by quitting fast fashion for good.
Happy IWD. Pay women. Arrest pedophiles.
Three things to do today:
1. Pay women
2. Believe women
3. Arrest everyone in the files
Happy International Women’s Day.

Sex work is work.
A quick reminder that WPF has always and forever been loudly here for sex workers, and they are part of and enthusiastically welcome in our communities. ♥️
3. Memorize (or write down) at least one out of area trusted contact (for localized emergencies where cell service gets overwhelmed, it can be easier to call out)

Three things to do today:
1. Add $10 to your at home cash
2. Pick up an extra nonperishable item during your next grocery store trip (food you actually enjoy eating, so only get rice or beans if you regularly eat rice or beans!)
Three things for today 💚
No interruptions, please. We’re building universal child care.
Another day with no money spent ✅
Because I have no interest in feeding the oligarchs.
How was your week? Any frugal wins to share? I love to hear all about them!

We do what we can, and avoiding mega corps for groceries would easily 2x-4x our food budget.
Cooking from scratch, reducing food waste, and growing some of our own food (and raising chickens) helps, but complete disconnection from the grocery mega corps isn’t on the list for 2026.
5. We spent no money this week outside of food & groceries, and the only money spent at businesses owned by billionaires was for groceries.
Grocery shopping outside the oligarchy is HARD.
Running is a very cheap exercise, gets me outside, and is the best for my brain. After a few weeks off, I’m feeling extra grateful for my body and its ability to run.
My feet not hurting (plantar fasciitis)? Even better. That whole “priceless” feeling for sure.
4. After being sick with food poisoning for a week (following up with two weeks of very active travel but no running), I was able to get out for a couple runs with the dog in the evenings.
