Just finished War and Peace!
It was free in audible read by Thandiwe Newton, and was really good. ( Having previously watched the BBC adaptation helped!) I've been listening to it on and off for the last year.

Dr Frankenstein definitely comes across as a dangerous narcissist. I had the misfortune to listen to the book on audible a few years ago. Listening to him rant on, wasted hours of my life I won't get back. I can't imagine Shelley thought he was a sympathetic character.

In Bruges last month there was a little kid who'd lost his parents on a tour, but as soon as he started with his anguished cries of “mummy!” the crowd mobilised. Some to comfort him, others to look for the parents. They were reunited in minutes. Most people are nice. It's hard to remember sometimes.

My 13-year-old just recently got some black skinny jeans from the women’s department because fellow emo kids told him that was the best place to find them, and, oh, the validation I felt when he complained about the teeny tiny pockets
