i just tried to translate ”一定的成果“ to describe my style-shifting progress and absolutely failed

there are just some very fun chinese phrases you can't translate gracefully. “微笑“, of course. ”一定的成果“ is also one. almost all 成语. so on and so forth

You know, it might sound kind of pretentious to say that "you should always think about the themes your story can have".

Like, "Really? Themes? I'm writing a comedy oneshot comp where I screw around with me and my friend's RP server OCs, I'm not trying to be Earnest Fucking Hemmingway over here".

FPG is somewhere around 1950s-1960s china, complete with a development imbalance. as a whole it still looks far more like vanilla PMD than a modern world, especially where the fic takes place, although the north is more advanced.
