A work in progress shot of an oil painting. It is from the perspective of the tiny fairies and humans, but the humans have yet to be added. So far, there are 2 panels. There is a path that makes a 'u' shape in front of a tree. Small coins, buttons, and bottlecaps make a trail on the left side of the path. The left side has far more progress than the right. There is a bee flying above the grass and a fairy sitting on top of a mushroom.

I wanted to make something lighter and whimsical in nature to contrast the usual moody paintings I make.
My base idea for it is fairies leading tiny humans to their party tree. It should have 4 panels by the end.

The back of the little cat guy! You can see the back of his beanie, the belt of his jacket, his fingies, and his tail peaking out from under his jacket, wrapping around to the left. All details hand carved!

The front of the cat man! He has a small tuft of hair sticking out from under his beanie. The details of his face are carved; fur, nose, and mouth along with some smaller ovals of clay for eyebrows. He's wearing a plain shirt and you can see the collar of his jacket. Both have smaller, carved details (folds, seams) In his right hand is a beer bottle and you can see his tail coming out from the right side. His feet are massive and shaped like paws. They have carved fur details. Above his feet are curled up pant legs. They are very thick.

Another WIP!
I kinda wanted to do a little story surrounding this little guy, but I'm not sure how far I want to take it.
Maybe I'll delve deeper in my portfolio review next semester.

The mugs are finally done and ready to go to their new home!! They were awesome for my first time making a set of anything! All were wheel thrown, the handles were hand pulled, and they were put into a soda kiln.

The mugs were too wet to trim, but I did manage to get a good picture of them all together. This is my first time doing a set like this. In terms of evenness, I'd say I did pretty good!

A cluttered table with various pottery tools and other things I use for my work.

I threw 5 mugs and a bowl at the studio today, but I had to rush off before I took a picture of them. Instead, have my messy table! I'll post updates tomorrow. There's a peak of my first attempt at a plate and my unfired decorative piece as well!

This is the vent piece I was working on in January. I was angry about current events and the future to come, so I threw all of that emotion onto a canvas. I was going to add leaves on the living trees, but I think leaving them bare adds to the message

One of the first pieces that I sold was this mixing bowl that I called "Mint Chocolate Chip" because of the way that the brown glaze drips onto the green. Mixing bowls are one of my favorite things to make, and this was my first one. It was soda fired as well.

Today's post is a mixing bowl. It's one of if not the biggest piece I've made on the wheel so far! The outside makes me think of a stary night sky while the inside has more of a sunset tone with an icy eye in the center.
