I'm not against ID cards - I'm reluctant on governments rushing tech solutions and having all information about citizens, tying info together out of context.

Partially yes, but part of that scandal were algorithms and data managent.
Implementing a digital ID could open the door for similar things to happen.
I suppose solutions to prevent this can be made, but I'm of the opinion that these digital tools (IDs, currency) are being rushed, that's all.

Yeah, that's also a valid point. Not saying the old systems are perfect - far from it, and I don't have all the answers.
