19.07.2025 03:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Truee thatโs nice. Was looking at that and saw the โno taksie backsiesโ so never did it. Also, youโre still tied to their relay, labeller and app view, which is why itโs not really worth it for me. Saw a post about hosting a relay for 34$, but compared to masto itโs a lot harder to have independence
19.07.2025 03:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0For Mastodon for example, your identity is tied to a server. Sure you can move servers. However, when a server is gone, you canโt. Therefore itโs fair to claim itโs tied to a server. For bluesky you canโt easily migrate your account, right?
18.07.2025 21:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0At least my understanding is that Fedi is correct in all sections and I canโt see whatโs wrong about bluesky, either.
Not to say that it is missing someone sections like adaption, funding, cost of running a node and number of popular independent implementations
Is it wrong tho
18.07.2025 12:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I donโt really want to argue, because I donโt really care enough. It just feels icky to me, given that you have an authentication system in place with domains. Sarcastically, how long until bluesky starts selling verification with bluesky premium
11.07.2025 11:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thought the cool thing about bluesky was that you use a domain as verification? Oo
11.07.2025 11:09 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Itโs not an app, but jq mostly does the trick or the dprint formatter

10.07.2025 14:19 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You want to handle all the data that comes with handling credit cards and bank transfers or is it just creating invoices?
10.07.2025 14:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Scrolling reels on bluesky is just like โawww catsโ, โurgh American politicsโ, โawwww dogsโ, โman with schlong outโฆ iuhโ
08.07.2025 10:44 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yeah, but when I was younger I never had the money to get a good graphics card and consoles just had the games available. Plus you could easily play with friends at one console. Today, I have a MacBook as my own laptop, because Iโm a musician, and use my Linux work laptop for personal software dev

07.07.2025 17:25 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Donโt stress distribution choices too much. With time you will probably develop a taste and if you are interested enough switch distributions a few times. I started with pop!_OS 5+ years back, used Fedora, switched to Arch, then Alpine and use openSUSE Tumbleweed at work at SUSE
07.07.2025 17:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0There are distributions aimed at gaming, specifically. The one you mentioned, SteamOS isnโt available apart from the Steamdeck, yet. However, there are bazzite.gg or nobaraproject.org which build upon on Fedora Linux. In the past I personally mostly used Fedora directly
07.07.2025 17:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I am primarily gaming on Switch, but I have played video games on various Linux distributions in the past (even several years ago). Short answer, check www.protondb.com and maybe dual boot.
Anti cheat for online games is a hit or miss sadly. Generally, if itโs deck verified, it works
Probably the best Linux tablet you could every get.
Idk if you know about PostmarkedOS but itโs a Linux distro for phones, but there is no reason to not run it on desktop and tablet. They help people with device bringup sometimes and it would probably make for a fun stream
This is perfection *-*
