Just done the NI and suppliers expected increases for our community owned fish and chip shop.
Wage bill to increase by c £10k
Supplies by c £5k
Profit (and therefore cash for local charities) now tiny.

This is interesting- the liability is considerably lower than previously estimated (a fair few have been raising that point for a while now).

We do need to understand what went wrong and learn from it.
It’s possible that it supported its subsidiaries a bit too much- but as you note some analysis and sharing will be useful learning for others.

There is a note in the story about a “historic liability” and lack of unrestricted reserve. We Agree infrastructure is critical and very surprised to see GMCVO go this way.
