The amount of people who have *very quickly* climbed on board the “remigration now” train, despite this pretty much being a verboten position in the media since the early 80s is pretty instructive. The media following these people ain’t gonna help. But the attitudes are not handed down from on high.

Yes, am afraid I don’t (at least fully) buy the “the media has failed here” argument. The people don’t care, and in a large amount of cases, actively distrust media. And while some of the media have periodically been feral on immigration, these attitudes have hunkered down and survived fallow years.

Yeah, and I like the fish out of water comedy. That’s why I swapped it around with Iron Man 2, which really does just feel Contractually Obligated

(Admittedly none of those films are *as good* as iron man, which was lightning in a bottle)

I would put Iron Man 2 and Thor the other way around, as it happens but yeah. The last 5 Marvel films have featured 2 to 3 to tier ones (D&W also up there), one offensively average one (Cap 4) and The Marvels (ok, just a stinker). So if anything, the quality level has been better.

Yeah, I mean, it’s not as if Phase 1 was chock full of great movies, if anything, the last 5 Marvel films probably match the first 5 Marvel films in quality. But…Infinity War and Endgame come after Ragnarok and the Cap Double whammy and lots of others building up goodwill that…isn’t there anymore?

Started reading a fantasy series about a world of vampires the other day and it was great so I got book two and for some reason between books one and two the author decided to lean very heavily into “hey, gentle reminder, these are SEX vampires who do SEX” and it’s really putting me off.

How do you get that and not “Nazism”?
