Great read from Dan Rather:
"...The very existence of a free press is a threat to this president’s modus operandi, which is to govern by lying. Why would he want people around him who ask for facts and truthful answers?..."

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.
Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.
Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.
As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.
A tweet from Melanie D’Arrigo (@DarrigoMelanie) reads: “If at least 26 billionaires can waste at least $27 million trying to defeat Zohran Mamdani, then those same billionaires can afford to pay an extra 2% on their income over $1 million to make New York a better, thriving city for everyone — including themselves.” Below is a screenshot of a Forbes article titled “Billionaire Winners And Losers In Tuesday’s Elections,” listing names like Michael Bloomberg, Bill Ackman, Steve Wynn, and others with dollar amounts next to their contributions.

🚨BREAKING: The Department of Justice (DOJ) this week placed two federal prosecutors on leave after they wrote in a court filing that on Jan. 6, 2021, “thousands of people comprising a mob of rioters attacked the U.S. Capitol,” a source familiar with the personnel moves told Democracy Docket.
