On St David's Day, a reminder to Americans to not take this gun-happy travel agent's advice to visit the Druid's Glen in Wales. It will end badly.

It's St David's Day.

Why not support a Welsh writer and grab a book that will inspire young Welsh children* to read and (hopefully) get out there and play some sport? 📚

*The Welsh rugby history book is sutiable for ages 8-80 though! #booksky

Just a reminder, as some question religious influence in UK politics. There are only two major countries in the world that guarantee clergy to hold seats in parliament. The United Kingdom and Iran. The UK automatically seats 26 Bishops in the House Of Lords.

Kicked off St David's Day watching Superted's 1980s road safety videos and matching them to their actual locations in Cardiff.

In the previous game, Wales defeated England for the 1st time, winning 1-0 in Shrewsbury after a try from William 'Buller' Stadden.

Stadden bounced the ball to himself from a lineout for the score. The move was later banned.

In 1906, he killed his wife and cut his own throat, dying 3 days later.

Some St David's Day #rugbyhistory.

Wales 1st played on St David's day in 1890, drawing 3-3 with Ireland in Dublin. Charlie Thomas scored a try for Wales 5 mins from the end.

Nine players were arrested afterwards (8 were Irish) for 'exuberance of spirits'.

It really doesn't help the public debate (especially among more casual fans) to just revise history like this, though. Irresponsible and pointless.

Stephen Jones in the Times today. Just casually rewriting history.

"....for a vast chunk of the 149 years Newport, now the Dragons, have played at Rodney Parade."

"The Dragons have really been through the mill. It will be an awfully long time before they beat New Zealand again."

This is misleading though.

A CHAMPION KILLED BY A RAT

The Sydney Referee of February 24 says: We are informed on good authority that poor Dick Sandal, the well-known New Zealand amateur, is dead. A telegram conveying this information was received by a gentleman well known in sporting circles in this city. It appears that Sandal was chasing a rat which turned and leapt at him, biting him on the cheek. Blood poisoning set in, and in a comparatively short space of time Dick breathed his last.

A CHAMPION KILLED BY A RAT.

In April 1892 The Sportsman reported on the February death of a New Zealand amateur boxer, Dick Sandal, who was chasing a rat when it turned and leapt at him, biting him on the cheek. In a comparatively short space of time, Dick breathed his last.

On the subject of wonderful French rugby jerseys, here's a thing of beauty from 1930 and held in the @cardiffrugbymus. Wonderful.
