Stoked to share ExInertia! A lightweight Inertia installer for Phoenix.

This is based on the great work by @zachdaniel.dev (Igniter) and @derrickreimer.com (Inertia phoenix adapter).

Give it a try!

I’ve got an Elixir library coming out soon and need someone to give us feedback before making it public.

Reply to this post if you’d like to try it (bonus points if you like Inertiajs or vite πŸ˜‰)

And of course SSR as well, But I’ve had to mention it here since I was talking about React SSR

For hot module reloading, Liveview does a page reload, it’s fast but not HMR fast

I’m in Gothenburg but would love an Elixir meetup in Sweden!

The choice is yours:
β€’ Build app #10,000
OR
β€’ Build infrastructure that powers the next 10,000 apps

The market is speaking. Are you listening?

21.12.2024 11:52 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The infrastructure play isn't sexy, but it's where the billions will be made. Market signals couldn't be clearer.

Don't waste time building another AI application. Build what every AI application needs to exist.

21.12.2024 11:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

While everyone fights over application crumbs, massive gaps exist in:
β€’ Memory management
β€’ Security frameworks
β€’ Performance optimization
β€’ Enterprise compliance

21.12.2024 11:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Building AI apps in 2025 = building websites in 2010
The next wave of unicorns will be infrastructure companies, not application layers

21.12.2024 11:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The real opportunities right now:
β€’ Enterprise-grade RAG frameworks
β€’ State management for O3-level models
β€’ Security/compliance infrastructure
β€’ Data integration platforms

21.12.2024 11:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The pattern is clear:
β€’ AWS made Amazon, not e-commerce
β€’ Infrastructure acquisitions heating up
β€’ Every major AI company buying/building infrastructure
Yet developers keep crowding the application layer

21.12.2024 11:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Look at the numbers:
β€’ Pinecone: $100M+ in funding
β€’ W&B: $50M+ in funding
β€’ Humanloop: $2M+ raised in 12mo
All infrastructure plays. All crushing it.

21.12.2024 11:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

OpenAI's O3 launch isn't just about AGI capabilities - it's creating massive infrastructure demands. New reasoning engines need new infrastructure layers.

21.12.2024 11:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Just recently: Perplexity acquired Carbon.ai for their RAG infrastructure. They didn't buy another search company - they bought infrastructure. That's not an accident.

Why 90% of AI applications will fail, and where the real opportunity lies:

Everyone's rushing to build AI apps, but the smart money is quietly building infrastructure. The evidence is becoming impossible to ignore.

I’m afraid they might be here as well πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Making all this work out of the box might still be a challenge though, if only there was a Vite plugin that makes using Vite with Phoenix seamless πŸ‘€ πŸ‘€ πŸ‘€

While LiveView is fantastic, Inertia + Phoenix offers some cool benefits:
β€’ Instant updates with Hot Module Replacement (HMR)
β€’ Full access to React's component ecosystem
β€’ Built-in Server-Side Rendering
Worth checking out if you're into modern web development! πŸš€

@fly.io is great but I think Elixir should have a self hosting guide in the docs.

We’ve adopted Kamal @ Nordbeam for all our Elixir projects and it has been great.

The initial setup could take 30 mins to an hour but after that all you need is β€œkamal deploy”.
