Memories of March 1988: I wasn’t too impressed with the conversion of the first Arkanoid installment, but Revenge Of Doh really hit the spot. It was a very polished conversion packed with features, including the great gimmick of being (1/2)

This advertisement promotes the Sinclair Scientific Programmable calculator, emphasizing its programmability, access to a full range of scientific and mathematical functions, and general business and commercial applications. It operates on mains or battery and includes a library of over 400 standard programs. A 10-day no-obligation offer is available.

Breakthrough best-seller- the Sinclair Scientific Programmable.

Sinclair breakthrough cuts
calculating drudgery and expense
A programmable calculator does your
calculating for you.

You enter the calculation as a program
-a series of calculating steps which
can be applied to any number or
sets of numbers. A2+B=Cisa
program. The squaring, adding and
square-root functions are the same
whatever the numbers.

Once the calculator has the program,
all you have to do is enter the
numbers: A and B. The calculator
picks them up and instantly displays
C, the answer.

You can then enter two more numbers
and get the new answer. And you can
repeat this process over and over
again.

The Scientific Programmable applies
this principle to scientific calculation.
All essential scientific functions are
built into the keyboard.

But it's a calculator which is also
extremely useful for repetitive general
business and commercial calculations.

Yet it costs under £30-way below
the price of its nearest competitor!

Functions and features of the Sinclair Scientific Programmable
Keyboard-entry programmability
Programs up to 24 steps entered
simply by keying in a sequence
equivalent to calculation. No program
takes longer than 30 seconds to enter.
Scientific notation
Full scientific notation, with floating-
point entry option. Post-fixed
operators (reverse Polish) for
convenience in handling complex
calculations. Exponent range: 10-99
to 10+99,

Log and trig functions
Sin, cos, arctan (radians); log10,
antilog 10, other functions immediately
derivable.

Mathematical functions
+,x, ÷
√X, x², sign change.

Wanderer on the #C64 was my first ever professional product. Coded when I was 16yo I basically converted the Speccy code and mostly didn’t know what I was doing. It scored 16% in Zzap and was described as a ‘vector graphics turkey’.
