thank you, I remember it well! The longing, the heaven of an acceptance. The loss of confidence from rejections, the giving up for a long while, all during a time when there were no creative writing workshops or mentors

maths is not my strength 🙈

yes! 90% persistence, 10% talent and 10% luck!

In fact, when they asked me to write an essay it was quite a bolt because of how the yearbook represented something that always looked out of reach

I did the same when I was a visual artist, then a poet looking longingly at ways to get published! All looked out of reach. My essay is from viewpoint of it being hard for me to get published x

I think I’m 39 here, sanding a polyester resin cast figure that was covered in grime from storage, a friend stopped to take these shots
