There’s definitely people who email saying “Happy Friday” and just because of their roles, I know that whatever follows is probably NOT going to be leading to a happy Friday (or a decent finish time) for me 😅

I do the whole “I hope this email finds you well” thing and may add “…and that you had a lovely weekend.” (Also something admit pleasant bank holidays as Greece gets a lot of those 😂 )
Neither are questions but also polite enough to keep me “in” with people.

…or is this just another example of me being “too empathetic” at work.

I’ve had people mention my levels of empathy in meetings and while it all seems polite on the surface, I am more paranoid that it’s a sly dig that I give too much of a shit 🤷🏼‍♀️ 🙄

It’s Friday.

In Corporate Land, I tend to always get “Happy Friday!” greetings at the beginning of emails, and I feel a bit bad if I don’t participate.

However.

Because it’s me, I put:

“Happy Friday”(?)…**

Am I The Asshole? Or do I just not play The Game correctly? 💅

My youngest fur son had his balls removed today. They gave him methadone. He’s just walked into the lounge, ignored the fact that I was working (trying to make up for time lost after immediate post op pick up helicopter parenting) and flopped himself on me. Why does his come down look so comfy?!

Anyone else start the day with good intentions and a task list and then find out in their first meeting about all the other slightly higher priority stuff that was immediately going to fall on their desk last minute if it weren’t for it being mentioned in a chance meeting?? Anyone?

I had to go out to move some fallen wooden planks (cheers storm) that had fallen onto the veg patch frames and there was the smell of spring-incoming in the air. Not the smell OF spring but the change of season air that happens in late winter. ❤️

I drew this around a year ago and little did I know that just a few months later I would find a small half-starved kitten abandoned on a schoolyard, and that this comic would literally become my own morning routine☺️🤎☕️

I don’t care how sad this makes me: I harvested my first lot of homemade Hot Bin compost yesterday and I couldn’t be more proud. 🥲

Mistakes were made, but I’ve learnt from them (no twigs/branch cuttings in the bin from now on).

Seeds are currently germinating ready for planting soon. ❤️

Plus we’re out in the country so no long car trips and faffing with parking or feeling bad about leaving the boys…

I’ve become such a recluse and I kinda love it. All I miss is the beach and sea swimming 😢

It turns out that mine and t’other half’s new favourite thing is purchasing a film that’s still on at the cinema at home on a Saturday night and recreating the cinema cocktails and snacks at a fraction of the price, plus being able to pause for loo breaks. WITH ADDED KITTIES to cuddle. Living LIFE.

Guys help: I’ve been suckered into Threads 4 times this morning thanks to Instagram. Can I make it stop?!

Very merry solstice blessings to you all. I have put ALL the Christmas lights on and lit candles, but not the hearth yet (that’s at 9:21am!) and in true New Year style, it’s Big Cleaning Day in the house 🙌🏼

We did not retrieve the tree 😭

Also yes to ghost stories during the autumn winter time. I don’t know why I found this sort of stuff so comforting at this time of the year. ❤️

I’m poorly and getting over a work trip (social battery, TOTM & a cold on top is not The One), but I’ve tidied the house and had a full shower, and me and the cat are relaxing with the fire on. While there’s still so much to do around the house, I feel so at home here. ❤️
