AMERICA IS SO FUCKED!
Afaik, ICE kidnapped people without identifying themselves and masked. Who prevents (other) bad guys then from simply raiding someoneβs home, kidnapping and stealing? From afar (Europe) this looks really badβ¦ And I feel really sorry for the family!
29.04.2025 16:49 β π 245 π 10 π¬ 4 π 0Its weird but most of the stories I read of citizens being detained, were lawyers. Like theyre being detained just to gain access to their electronic devices, that they otheteise wouldnt have access to.
29.04.2025 17:57 β π 122 π 7 π¬ 2 π 0All the people coming back into the country with a US passport, which is a card stamped citizen but keep getting detained and questioned are plenty of proof that wouldnβt work.
29.04.2025 17:15 β π 297 π 11 π¬ 3 π 0The other day, Matt Yglesias argued that carrying around a card stamped with "citizen" would protect you from arbitrary detentions by the federal immigration gestapo. It doesn't even protect you in your own home!

- saying that ppl in Oklahoma deserve this
- saying some version of "why are you surprised by this"
Please highlight this story.
ICE stormed into the wrong house, trashed the place, and made women/girls stand outside in the rain in their underwear. ICE also stole phones, laptops, and cash savings from the family, who moved to OKC two weeks ago.

In their rotting crusade against human rights, they proudly tear down bipartisan progress, leaving only cruelty in their wake.

The Harvard Law Review is legally completely independent from Harvard. It does not accept federal funding as it's funded by bluebook revenue. I'm not even sure what jurisdiction the department of education has here to investigate them.

Iβm saying what Trump did is worse than deporting because those kids belong to the US and therefore βdeportingβ is the wrong word. It would be more effective to use the correct words because they show the true horror of what Trump did.
29.04.2025 17:30 β π 37 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0Stop saying deported. US citizens are not deported. Theyβre thrown out or trafficked!

Then thereβs the bonus that he tips them off before announcements affecting markets.
The cherry on top is that our govβt loves to bail out rich people & blame the poor.
Jamie Dimon says the *best case* scenario for the US is now a recession.
Cool, cool. From the best economy in the world to a self-inflicted recession in 4 months.
Gotta be some kind of record.
Well here's a surprise, I'm sitting here in Australia on a Tuesday morning watching the CBC's live Canadian election results feed with the same level of interest as when I will be watching the ABC's live Australian election results this coming Saturday night.
Strange times ...
