As someone with brain damage it's been utterly fascinating seeing modern leftists blame the modern conservative and reactionary movement on mental illness. Maybe it's lead paint or gas stoves or vapes or AI because clearly bad people need to have something Wrong with them right?

I need everyone on earth to understand that PDs are a fraut category even in the best application of them but even the DSM at least includes "the disturbance is not a normal part of a broadly accepted cultural or religious practice" as a requirement for most every mental disorder

It's a broad category, but you can look at any people who were born into wealth but became leftists or people who resisted nazi rule or general fascist rule despite incentive to do so

a lot of people really do not understand at the body level that psychosis is a grouping of symptoms that anyone on earth can potentially experience under specific conditions of duress. the rich dont rape and kill because theyre crazy, they do it because they think its ok to do

If you dont get over this kind of thinking you will always hate the mentally ill more than you hate the rich and powerful

And besides, its not actually universal for them to behave that way, they are completely capable of changing their behavior but have minimal incentive to do so. Assuming they are somehow genetically predisposed to evil via mental illness is an idea I find completely unjustifiable

It could not explain that at all. The material circumstances and culture they live in explains it. The banality of evil and its lack of overlap with mental illness has been demonstrated again and again, & theres no reason to assume mental illness is becoming more common rather than more hypervisible

Its also a great way to imply the mentally ill being taken advantage of by AI companies and their chatbots are somehow the same as the CEOs of said companies so you dont have to feel empathy for them bc theyre Bad.

You might be mentally ill someday and people will blame you for it with these same words and youll realize that those words never ever touch the people in power

Also what knowledgeable people. Knowledgeable people are quite hesitant to diagnose famous evil people with mental disorders. Being surrounded by yes men can cause complacency and overconfidence and apathy towards life beyond your own but those are not DSM exclusive traits within humanity

We haven't "proven" that just talking to an AI chatbot gives you psychosis. If anything it interacts poorly with people who are predisposed to psychosis. Psychosis does not spawn in the moment you talk to Chat GPT like a status effect

A lot of people have like an 1800s view of mental illness where psychosis and personality disorders are 1. The same thing 2. Induced by doing moral failings 3. Evil in nature and therefore fine to fearmonger about
