We've been wanting to leave for years but we're stuck. We've been here 11 years so our rent is still cheaper than anywhere else. But even when we tried finding a new place, we were amongst 100s of others trying to as well.
The mini is ours. My landlord is a beloved rich business in the area so he can do no wrong. He's completely neglected our apartments. The HVAC above our place had a major leak and flooded our apartment. He only fixed the HVAC and refused to touch our place.
We've definitely considered getting some cheap one from marketplace, but it keeps getting pushed down the line for other more important things. Unfortunately, we don't have much support, so we've become independent and don't like asking for help. Especially monetary.
Feels this for sure. We also don't have a working regular size refrigerator. Our slumlord refuses to get a new one, so we've been stuck using a mini fridge for over a year. We don't have a freezer to try and stock up on frozen goods.
