Defensive shape. More structured & harder to break down, Cardiff still played thru us too often but this will only improve under GR.

Result. A huge 3 points, hopefully the start of a good run. Poor to concede 2 but in the long run it’ll be better for Rowett to see our defensive naivety live.

Assisted the first, won the corner for the second, what a goal. Pace, trickery and quality. Keep him fit and he’ll be a problem!

Sam Long. We saw another side to Long with his distribution and quality on the ball, looked every inch a championship player.

Will Vaulks. His best game since Norwich at home. Looked more assured on the ball and played some nice passes, more please.
