Honestly I have seen people in my city find work through other DSA people too. Having more connections can help you find a job. Some DSAs even have job postings in their virtual set up
They have waivers and most chapters have more money than people w time I am also happy to help you fundraise for dues if needed
If you have an org that works better for you I love that and keep doing it. If you’re in a revolutionary reading group and trying to organize a local primary organization I love that too. But please don’t count yourself out
I will say right now the most important thing all of the existing orgs need is dedicated time and educated people if you think you will contribute nothing you are wrong your chapter might have 500 members but not many of them showing up regularly to even virtual meetings
And it’s not that I even really believe in DSA as the vanguard or some bs but you can’t start from 0. You can use it to learn what’s going on in ur area who is active and how to do basic organizing things while you learn
I looked at the list of DSA chapters last night and I’m now convinced everyone who says they don’t have a chapter near them hasnt looked
1. You are free to join a chapter that is 1+ hours from you. There is much virtual work to be done
2. You could use it as a place to find ppl to start a chapter

I have mentioned many ways we can improve I have been talking about tactics that can be used I have been trying to get people to think about ways our organizations can fetter the imperialist machine
