Hey, hey, it's Sunday.

First, thanks so much for watching this week. You did your part. Now I'll do mine... give me 5 questions to answer.

GO!

1. I honestly have no idea. They have a lot of shows and movies that all have to be planned and scheduled and fit on a board somehow. That's a high-pressure job! I knew we were going to be once a week... I didn't know which day. I think they post it 12 AM PST on the chosen day.

Happy Sunday Derek! Question: Volchek and Mark seem to be connected somehow. Like the visual parallel between them when both working out (boxing and pull ups) and twice they passed like ships in the night. Giving me Heat vibes, with Pacino and De Niro? Will there be some sort of face to face?

Still thinking about Jensen Ackles' EW photoshoot for #Countdown at least once a day

5. I just try to make them multi-dimensional, otherwise they're just that truck in the movie DUEL... mindless, soulless, relentless hell-hounds. I have a soft spot for the bad guys... I want you to sometimes pull for them and then think to yourself, "what am I doing?" 😀

Bonus. I put that in the script thinking someone at Prime would tell me to lose it at some point. It's one of those fifty-fifties where I'm like, "It's goofy in an interrogation room scene but does it work for Meachum?" Jensen liked it so we rolled with it.

Loving the show. Congrats on making the Neilsen charts. I'm wondering that since the case Mark was undercover for in prison is still unsolved. Will this come back to haunt him at some point?

2. In the dance hall, the basement hallway is dark, and though the audience can see Volchek, from Mark's angle, Volchek's in the shadows. Just a dark figure. All hell breaks loose after that but we can assume he described everything he saw as well as he could.

4. Big action sequences and set-pieces are fun but the little quiet moments when it's just two characters putting all their emotions on the table are the best to write and produce. There is another scene on Meachum's porch that is my favorite of the season.

3. I'm glad you dug that... I thought the audience would get a kick out of seeing how close they came to Volchek back in the day. We don't go into Mark's past in this season... I'm not even sure we go much further into his future! 😮

Hey, it's finally here! Countdown starts today!

For your reward waiting this long, here is a photo from the read-through last September when we all barely knew each other.

I hope you enjoy the first three episodes and I'll answer five questions on Sunday.

1. Great question. I would love to say I know... but sometimes the cast picks things they like for their character... type of watch or ring, firearm, etc., and I like to incorporate what they choose. I'll ask and get back to you.

2. That's two questions! a) Mark's fight was on the first day of filming. It was 114 degrees. It was probably 85 percent Jensen and 15 percent stunt double. It's hard to keep Jensen from doing his own fights/stunts.

b) I told everyone "shhhhhhh" and gave them the death stare.

3. A task force has no minimums nor limits, so I thought it would be cool to contract or expand the team as the case progresses. Seven seemed like the right number to launch because that's a lucky number. (Except in the case of episode 7... for some characters.)

4. There's a cameo of Craig Mazin who created The Last of Us. Tell me when you spot him!

5. There is one that the post team put together for our wrap party and it is hilarious. It has spoilers so would have to come out after the series airs. Maybe we can make that happen!

The fourth episode of Countdown is up today. As a reward for watching, I'll give you this photo I took on the second day of shooting.
