Il y a brid.gy qui travaille sur un projet du style. Pour l’instant c’est encore à l’état de test, mais un profil bluesky apparaîtrait avec des handles du style @bsky.app@atproto.brid.gy sur mastodon.

Des volontés de l’équipe de bluesky je n’en ai pas vu. des volontés du côté du dictateur bienveillant derrière Mastodon (Gargron) non plus. Threads? Pas que je sache.

Mais des volontés chez les bidouilleurs pour construire des traducteurs (des "ponts") entre les deux protocols, ça oui.

Ok. Here's what's super interesting about threads. While the algorithm isn't great (BRANDS! CELEBRITIES!) that quiets a bit once you start following a bunch of people you choose. (That isn't the interesting part. I'll post that next)

Also mastodon has less than 2M active users, threads have more than 10M already. They don't need to buy anything

You cannot buy mastodon. The codebase is not for sale, the biggest server is not for sale and you'd need to buy like 10 thousands other server to "own" mastodon.

There is no subscribing or opt-in I think, the BGS just grabs everything. I don’t know if Firesky run their own BGS or if they’re just pulling posts from the official BGS though.

The crawler is IN the design, it’s called a BGS.

There is nothing technical about mastodon not having search. Other ActivityPub servers (that aren’t mastodon but talks to mastodon servers) have search.

The main dev of mastodon and the users were against it. But it’s finally on the roadmap after many years

I hate some of the technical and design decisions of signal (like dropping support for SMS), but have to admit. "use signal" still holding strong.

I wouldn’t call the 1.5M MAU (it went up thanks to lemmy) to be nothing though. That’s almost the entirety of the bsky waiting list which have no guarantee to be active users.

And with instagram, Tumblr and wordpress actively looking into ActivityPub....

There are some discussion groups and people working on building bridges. It will definitely be a thing.

To be quite frank, I love the fediverse, but I never liked mastodon as a software. It’s such a shame it became the flagship of the fediverse.
