The SAG Awards tribute segment a few weeks back was far superior
Yeah I’m not doing the discourse, fuck this. Paul Thomas Anderson and Ryan Coogler are both very talented filmmakers, who released really creative, unique films, and I’m glad they both won awards because they’re both very deserving. I think we can leave it at that.
He’s right, 2025 was a great year for movies
I didn’t get it who’s Mr. Beast, is that blue Kelsey Grammer from X-Men?
the fact that Tatiana Maslany could play one clone who was impersonating another clone and you could tell who BOTH OF THOSE WERE MEANT TO BE was some sort of god tier wizardry
as the only person to have seen Blue Moon, I have to say Ethan Hawke did a great job but Richard Linklater is overly concerned with how short Hart was, and he keeps shrinking Hawke throughout the picture until it ends with him drinking while sitting on a spool of thread
PTA was way overdue
I could not will it into existence
I think it’s gonna be Coogler for director and SINNERS Best Picture 📽️ #Oscars
Of course I don’t know anything more than anyone else, but I’m hoping you’re wrong 😉
That SINNERS number was ambitious, but kind of accidentally threw a spotlight on just how great a director Coogler is by virtue of how chaotic the onscreen presentation was. In the movie, that is the moment of the year and communicates volumes.
If we made the green energy transition this war would be unthinkable and these authoritarians wouldn’t be in power — not in the US, not in Iran, not in Saudi Arabia, not in Russia. Hydrocarbons are killing our freedom and just plain killing us.
A remarkable and singular film
He may not care for the term, but actor/director Christopher Guest is likely responsible for bringing "mockumentary" into common usage with his largely-improvised ensemble comedies like BEST IN SHOW (2000), a satire set in the world of dog shows. 🎥 #Letterboxd

In BRAZIL (1985, D. Terry Gilliam) low-level bureaucrat San Lowry struggles to escape the surreal dystopia in which he lives. Whether in the end he succeeds or fails is very much up for debate—and we do, in our discussion. #YabtM 🎥 #filmsky #Letterboxd

Remember when people used to be all “hard times creates great art” because no actually it’s just this.

I imagined the Chatsubo in 1984. 41 years later I opened its door. Neuromancer is in production.
Fool me twice: in David Mamet's THE SPANISH PRISONER (1997) a rising corporate star (Campbell Scott) seeks to protect a valuable process he's invented, and a mysterious businessman (Steve Martin) offers to help. Guess how that works out. #YabtM 🎥 #Letterboxd
