Photograph of a small pigeon with a long tail perched in a persoonia tree. The bird is shades of brown, orange, and cream, with red and blue rings in its eyes. The tree has short spikey leaves with clusters of small yellow flowers.

Photograph of a very small honeyeater perched vertically on the side of a Banksia flower. The entire scene is backlit. The flower is yellow/green, ovoid, and covered in anthers so it looks furry. It is larger than the bird. The bird is dull in colour compared to adults of its species, in shades of desaturated brown and fawn, with black eyes and a pink/black beak that hasn't reached its full length yet.

I was taking the bins out today when I noticed a juvenile Eastern Spinebill in the garden. I rushed back inside to grab my camera and was happy to find the bird still there when I returned.

I know there's a lot of other massive problems with "AI," but as a techie and a PC builder I am GODDAMNED FUCKING SICK of some stupid hype bubble designed to fleece investors and nothing else ruining my hobby.

Your crypto shit took all the video cards. Your "AI" took GPUs *and* RAM.

Fuck you all.

FWIW Luram has changed his review (but it's still hateful and Islamophobic) so I think that means you can report it again. Users are reporting it now too ( I just did).

Photograph of a square-ended crab spider (Sidymella sp.) on a black plastic surface which appears light grey due to camera's flash diffuser. The spider is a rich orange colour, with small dark orange spots and a striped down its cephalothorax. Its 4 forelegs are especially long and stretched out either side, like a crab's claws (hence the name).

Same subject, higher angle showing the abdomen more clearly including the trapezoid dorsal surface that makes it a "square ended" crab spider. At this angle, the background appears black and reflecting.

Same subject, wider angle and directly overhead, now with the tip of the author's index finger included for scale. The spider's forelegs are just wide enough to hug the fingertip but wouldn't wrap around it.

Unidentified Crab Spider (Sidymella sp.) with my index finger for scale. Probably one of the largest crab spiders I've seen, and definitely one of the orangest.

Photograph of an immature male Gang-gang Cockatoo attempting to right itself on a bare branch. One foot is raised and its wings are spread for balance. It is a small grey cockatoo with some of its bright red head/crest plumage. Its flight and tail feathers have light yellow bars, and its belly and undertail coverts are barred in yellow and orange.

Photograph of a different individual on the same branch from a different, tighter angle - from the belly up. This bird looks very similar but the barring on its belly is more vividly orange. It is looking at the viewer with its beak open - which could be interpreted as smiling or laughing, but in reality was because the bird was trying to cool down by panting on a hot day.

I've finally remembered to change my Patreon currency to AUD though, if that makes you more comfortable.

Same subject, but the bird is hunched down and perched on a tree branch with one foot raised. It doesn't give a fig about your opinions, it has bird stuff to contemplate.

I love Noisy Friarbirds. They don't care whether you think they're as pretty as other honeyeaters. The baldness is practical, not cosmetic.

My Primary School principal personally picked me (and a few other kids) to be in a special art class that he taught himself because he saw potential in us.

He was John Shields, already an accomplished Australian landscape painter. I've never forgotten that he saw something in me.
