Because the branch serves so many working parents, Bermingham focuses on drop-in activities without specific times. For instance, she transformed the kids section into a Candy Land game board, complete with giant paper mache candy. She also built a picture book-themed mini golf course and collaborated with patrons to paint the stations. "For a lot of kids, libraries are a place of connection," Bermingham says. "They walk into our building knowing that they're welcome, that we're going to greet them with a smile and a wave, and maybe even sit down and build a Magna-Tile tower with them. It's good to go somewhere you feel seen, and that's what I want most for our kids."
