Post from Sarah Kendzior on her Substack account, dated 11/10/2025:

β€œI’ve been suspended from BlueSky. I don’t know why. I wasn’t online much today, and the last things I posted were excerpts from my substack newsletter articles. The suspension followed without explanation.

It seems there’s a crackdown. If you enjoy my work and want to make sure you can access it, subscribe! It’s free β€” I would never paywall in times of peril β€” and voluntary paying subscribers keep it going. It would be great to have your support at this time. Thanks!”

OpenAI faces 7 lawsuits claiming ChatGPT drove people to suicide, delusions OpenAI is facing seven lawsuits claiming ChatGPT drove people to suicide and harmful delusions even when they had no prior mental health issues.

Six people died from tampered Tylenol and the company pulled 30 million bottles off the market. ChatGPT is accused of urging seven people towards suicide, and OpenAI just assures us they’re still working out the kinks. Billions in investment, zero accountability.

There is something truly remarkable about Generative AI.

Several years in this revolution, half of the US GDP dumped to make these tools free, and i can't think of a single generated artifact, text, image, sound, video that had a significant cultural impact.

Sam Altman (@sama) We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our β€œtreat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

Translation: After we built an addictive tool based on stolen data, exploited labor and plundering the environment, which pushes kids to commit suicides, we were like, why not cash in on "erotica"? After all, this is what building so-called AGI that "benefits humanity" looks like.

Of Models and Tin Men- A behavioural economics study of principal-agent problems in AI alignment using
large-language models
One of the challenges in assessing the capability and safety of LLMs is their opacity; AI safety researchers sometimes
refer to them as β€œgiant inscrutable arrays of fractional numbers” [6]. Since many of their capabilities emerge down-
stream, we cannot reason about their high-level functioning theoretically from first principles, but rather we have to
resort to empirical enquiry and actual experiments (c.f. [7, 8, 9]). This is analogous to using the scientific method
to understand human cognition. The human brain is similarly opaque, and therefore behavioural psychologists test
their hypotheses using controlled experiments with human subjects. Accordingly, researchers have started to adapt
empirical methods from cognitive psychology [10], and behavioural economics [11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 14], to the
study of large-language models

the flaw in this logic is that all commercial llms (by opeAI, google, anthropic etc) hardly share information about their models inc training data, evaluation processes or benchmarks. they basically operate under a β€œtrust me bro” attitude. hence why this analogy is misguided and/or flat out wrong
