Every time I read about banning books, I think of this:

Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius.
If you're afraid that books might change someone's thinking, you're not afraid of books — you're afraid of thinking.

I keep trying to write something eloquent and just being tired.
History matters. Philosophy matters. Languages and literature matter. Indigenous studies matter. Arts and humanities and social sciences matter. All of them.

Ok so a few of you have pointed out that this line is being said to a horse drawing a one-horse sleigh and not a reindeer, so today’s reindeer representation protest in the North Pole is now cancelled. “Just Say Neigh” protest by Overworked Single Horses Association is still on for tomorrow.

“Giddy up jingle horse” is actually such an insulting thing to say to a reindeer
