Thankfully my family are ok because they happen to live near Kingston and although the hurricane covered the 147-mile wide island, the east was not as badly affected.
Please send any links, fundraisers etc my way, especially Scottish ones & local Caribbean grassroots.
Our climate crisis disproportionately affects the Global South and is making adverse weather events like hurricanes so much worse. The Caribbean sea was much warmer, making Melissa stronger. People are still unaccounted for, vegetation completely denuded, trees & uprooted, buildings destroyed.

Our AGM week 2025 is dedicated to Author Care.
With discussions around transparency, support and inclusion, communication and self-care, we ask how authors and publishing professionals can work better together and how authors can find support if needed.
Cutting support to the motability scheme for disabled people, while we continue to fund Prince Andrew's residences & "lifestyle", should *radicalise anyone* ππ«π€¬
