It really amazed me that they concluded the episode with some shots of them laughing and being one big happy crew when M'Benga blatantly dodged the question of whether he had ever erased security logs earlier in the episode.
"Don't worry, what separates a starship from a warship is that the Captain hosts fun dinners and we're all just one big family" is such a terrifying message coming from Star Trek.
Imagine being a writer on #StrangeNewWorlds and changing the core ethical dilemma from "Does Starfleet handing WMDs to a sovereign planet make them an imperialist force?" to "Hey, isn't it wrong to make an animal with feelings into a bomb?" halfway through and thinking you accomplished something.
This week's Strange New Worlds episode bravely answered the important, age-old question: "Okay, but could an imperialist, fascist empire throw a fun dinner party with champagne?" 😐
