Love this. ❤️
You will have to let me know what you think. Its probably my naivety but I am always baffled, amused and, after this documentary, more than a tad apprehensive, at just how into god, the devil, miracles and literal bible stories, the U.S are. Especially the south.
There is an outstanding Storyville on iPlayer at the moment . ‘Praying For Armageddon”. I can’t recommend it enough (if you haven’t already seen it). It’s 90 minutes background & context of this picture and why the current Israeli/US situation is/was inevitable.
Markwayne? Really? Is that a thing in America? Just joining up names if you can’t commit?
FT comments section this morning - saying what everyone else is thinking, right?
On a turnout of47.5%. I am not great at maths, but I think thats only 13-14% of the total electorate bothering get out to tick turquoise. 86% of that electorate have firmly rejected Reform.
www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/serie.... Hard recommend this for your listening pleasure. 👍🏻
BBC talking about the King bankrolling Andrew and “not being a burden on the taxpayer”. Are they pissed? Where do they think royalty get/got their money from? EVERYTHING that wretched, outrageously entitled and pompous family ‘own’ is taxpayer derived. Every single penny.
It was time when Elon signed up to the Maga train and did a Nazi salute but you do you, hun.
Back at it tomorrow. Probably for the best - certainly for my waistline. But after watching the Netflix programme about black holes, it all seems a bit mundane and almost pointless. #RetailLife 🥲
Full credit to your dedication during this holiday of feasting! And even more admiring of your dedication to an incomprehensible sport, during the time of food induced stupor! I hope your team gets the most <insert scoring opportunity> in between the adverts! 🏈🏟️🏈
I have reluctantly put the lid on the tub of Roses. Pavlova sounds immense. I absolutely have to crack on with eating some salad this week…but not yet! Have an indegestion free night of rest! #gaviscon for the win!
Prob will give it a miss then. Not through snobbery or anything / currently trying to muster energy to pack away leftovers but absolutely glued to the sofa watching the 1% Club. So hardly the discerning telly viewer🙃. Oh - and struggling to get any answers right. 🥲
I have never watched even 1 minute of Love Actually. I take it I am not losing out there then? Merry Christmas chaps.
The amount of fusty, worn to tatters bag for life’s I would uncrumple to pack shopping in Marks And Sparks a few years ago…for folk that had accents that made the Queen sound like a peasant. Usually sporting an ancient wax jacket too.
Supposed to go to Leeds last week. 😤Looking forward to going to Brum soon instead. VERY excited!
Well, I will definitely look forward to your takes! Pls don’t go hard on Neelix though! ☺️
I rewatched Voyager a while back. Gritted my teeth through any Chakotay heavy episodes and remembered how much I loved Seven and B’lanna ones amongst others. So of course, now have to go ‘backwards’ and rewatch TNG and then Originals plus films. Fun times ahead!
Young me was irrationally bugged by the Bajoran religious stuff and the easy to follow ‘get home’ story arc of Voyager seemed more amenable. Of course, cynical old me now absolutely loves the political machinations alongside the much more nuanced characters and acting, this time around! 🙃
Currently on Season 4 after being inspired by you to watch again. Enjoyed Voyager more at the time of first watch but opinion firmly flipped this time around. Reminded how much I loved the Ferengi and the Cardassians. #LoveABadBoy. 🫠
Still hoping for a Star Trek style universal translator device over here. Surely AI plus Bluetooth and wireless earbuds mean only one thing???? Printers (bluetooth or wired) are something even Asimov himself wouldn’t get hope up for, alas.
Tech people think we want AI, robots, and a colony on Mars but what I actually want is a home printer that simply works.
Catching up on #OnlyConnect and irrationally happy Victoria knows that Southwell is ‘Suthall’ in this neck of the woods.
Appalling news. So very very sad. Vaccines are our greatest invention - bar none. Both my daughters thankfully protected - including the needle phobic one that passes out at sight of one. Thank goodness they can avoid at least one of the horrid ways cancer can decimate families.
Was a great episode. Miss the guys. 🥲
Well - that’s me looking at a fair old return trip for a show!!
Watching Close Encounters Of The 3rd Kind and it’s still my number one scary movie of all time 40 years after first watch. Terrifying but also mesmerising and wonderful.
Probably not the Bobs demographic…I imagine I am going to stand out like a sore thumb, but my ticket to Leeds is booked and I am VERY excited about this one! Also - I managed to watch the Glasto set through 2 full plays and well into a 3rd before it was pulled. It WAS fantastic.
Many thanks for a super talk last night with @profaliceroberts.bsky.social and now planning a little sojourn round some old haunts in South Wales…might even be tempted to wander through new haunts in Nantes. Certainly going to do a lot more reading! 10/10 recommend. #Domination #100%🏴
