Where is your favorite spot to have tea or coffee in Flagstaff? There is a particular tree stump we frequent on the peaks, but there are a few others I really like too.

Yes, uploading everything and then some, but I have changed my layout like 6 times now, so part of the issue is my own doing!

I use Firefox on desktop and it looks great. The photos fill the page from side-to-side no matter what scale you have Firefox set to which is nice. I have also been in the process of self-hosting, I think it's a good idea!

One news source to keep an eye on all this is High Country News: www.hcn.org

Some early-warning signs to look for are regressive memos from agency heads. For example, memos from the Departments of Agriculture and Interior order the undoing of Biden admin polices.

I am worried about backsliding, among many other things. I think many other flashy news stories will drown out most tribal-federal news, but I hope people pay attention.

"The State of the Native Nations: Conditions Under U.S. Policies of Self-Determination" was published in 2008, but I am not aware of anything newer, sadly. This one gives a snapshot of challenges and progress up to that point from tribes across the US. Case studies are also throughout the book.

I don't know if anyone will ever see this, but these two books really helped me get started learning about tribal governance in the US. "American Indian Tribal Governance: A Critical Perspective" by Stephen Wall is an easy read, and to the point. I recommend to start with that then go to the other.

Down at Fisher Point Cave at sunrise in Flagstaff, Arizona. One my favorite things to do in town is to head out from my front door while it's still dark, headlamp on, and run down to Fisher Point cave in Walnut Canyon. If you time it right, the sun rises over Fisher Point.

Also, did you know many landscape scenes in the film "The Wind Rises" are inspired by the 19th century Russian landscape painter Isaac Levitan? Check this out.

Just some behind-the-scenes stuff. I just started attempting to animate and draw in December. It's so fun to learn something new, both how animation works and the software behind it--in this case, OpenToonz, which is free! It's never too late to learn something new.

Really love this spot in Flagstaff. This was from back in spring when it was closed to cars.
